How do I perform a System Restore in Windows ME? |

Answer: 1. Click on Start-->Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools-->System Restore 2. On the menu that comes up select 'Restore my computer to earlier time' and click Next. The 'Choose a restore point process' brings up a calendar interface to help select the desired restore point. Days in which restore points were created and available are presented in bold. 3. Select the Date you wish to roll back to and Click Next. 4. You should then be prompted with a warning. Click OK and click Next After clicking Next you should see the progress window and your computer will reboot with the new configuration. The progress indicator completes and the computer is restarted with the new configuration. |

How do I disable System Restore? |

Answer: 1. Right-click on the 'My Computer' icon and then click Properties. 2. On the Performance tab, click File System, or then press ALT+F. 3. Navigate to the Troubleshooting tab and click to select the Disable System Restore check box. 4. Click OK, and then OK again. 5. Click Yes when you are prompted to restart the computer. Note: To re-enable System Restore, follow steps above, except in step 3 you would clear the Disable System Restore check box. |

How can I prevent logon prompt at Startup? |

Answer: 1. Click Start-->Settings-->Control Panel, 2. Double-click Network. 3. On the Configuration tab, click Windows Logon in the Primary Network Logon box and click OK. 4. When prompted to restart your computer, click No. 5. In the Control Panel, double-click Passwords 6. On the Change Passwords tab, click Change Windows Password, and then select any of the check boxes you want, then click OK. 7. In the Change Windows Password box, type your current Windows password in the Old Password box. Leave the New Password and Confirm New Password boxes blank, click OK, and OK again. 8. On the User Profiles tab, verify that the All users of this PC use the same preferences and desktop settings option is selected, and then Close. 9. Click Start, point to Search or possibly Find, and then click For Files or Folders. 10. Type *.pwl in the Named box and click Local Hard Drives in the 'Look in' box, press ENTER. 11. Right-click one of the .pwl files, click Rename, and then rename the file with an .old file name extension. Repeat this step for each .pwl file. NOTE: You must rename all .pwl files. 12. Shut down and then restart your computer. |

Question #4: How can I Install Compressed Folders? |

Answer: Compressed Folders are not actually installed by default on a normal install. If you want to install them it can be done from the Windows Setup tab in Add/Remove Programs. Compressed Folders is in the System Tools components section. |

Question #5: Now that I have Compressed folders installed how can I encrypt them? |

Answer: Actually encrypting Compressed Folders is rather simple. All you need to do is open the compressed Folder and then click on File-->Encrypt and add password. |
