Answer: Internet Explorer 7 uses add-ons like ActiveX, Flash, and many browser toolbars. Somtimes an error can occur if an add-on is damaged or if it conflicts with Internet Explorer 7. In this case, IE won't open up properly or can take forever to start. To figure out if the problem is caused by an add-on, run Internet Explorer 7 in "No Add-Ons" mode. Follow these steps: 1. Click Start, then Programs, then Accessories, then System Tools, and click on 'Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)'. 2. Click Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons). Internet Explorer 7 opens without add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins. 3. Test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly. If it does open properly with no isses then you should run through the steps below to reset IE to it's default configuration (this will remove any problematic or corrupted add-ons). 1. First open up Internet Explorer 7. 2. Click on Tools, and then click on Internet Options. 3. Navigate to the Advanced tab. 4. Under Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click 'Reset'. |
